Mata’s Bouncing Buddies is locally owned and operated by Ray Mata and his wife, Tish Morgan Mata. We have three beautiful children: Vida, Baila, and Rio. Swells Monsoon, the cat, and Stormie Weathers, the dog, also share life’s excitements with us. At our house, we are fond of saying, “¡Vida Baila en el Rio!” In other words, “Life Dances in the River!” This pretty much sums up life in our house – loud, crazy, and fun! So, it is no wonder that Ray decided we needed to get into the moonwalk business in 2001 shortly after buying our first home and moving to Lockhart. He knew his business would need to match his “party” personality. Since we homeschool and run the business from home, Tish is always telling folks, “We get more mileage from our mortgage than just about anyone else on the block!”
During the week, Tish answers the phone, keeps the books, and manages the various helpers hired to clean the moonwalks and equipment. However, many days you might drive by and find her and the children out back “cleaning” a waterslide or some tarps for kicks. On the weekends, it’s Ray’s show. He’s responsible for the heavy lifting. Although, this year, Tish has started going with him on Saturdays to sneak in some couple time – and to make sure he writes the mileage on the contracts.
As a couple, we are deeply committed to our relationship with Jesus Christ. We are grateful for the miracles he’s worked in our lives and we owe our success to him alone. Having received victory in our lives over various hurts, habits, and hang-ups, we are in the process of starting a Celebrate Recovery ministry at First Lockhart Baptist Church here in Lockhart.
